Creatures of the Night

This year at the 17th Annual North Carolina Tattoo Convention, I had the good fortune to sit down with artist Otto Long to discuss his work. Otto is well known in the NC Triad area for his hand-carved, wooden skull and totem art. Otto creates his skull themed art out of a love for tattooing and tattoo art. While he's glad to be accepted by the larger artistic community, Otto makes his "Creatures of the Night" for tattooed people.

Check out my interview with Otto Long on Yahoo! Network, here.

Below: Despite his collection of skulls and creatures, Otto is very friendly and approachable.

"When I die, I want to be known for skull art. That's my goal. I want tattoo people to have my stuff, that's why I make it." -- Otto Long

Otto was one of the friendliest people I met at the convention, and that is saying something. Click the link below for more coverage of the show.

Otto's daughter was always nearby to make sure he was comfortable, and to help him raffle and sell his wood carvings.
